This two-hemisphere world map was published by Emanuel Bowen in 1752 in his A
complete atlas or distinct view of the known world.
The corners are decorated
with vignettes depicting figures of the four continents, and a globe contained
in a ball of fire. New Guinea and Tasmania are joined to Australia, and the coast
of New Zealand shows Assassins Bay. Also indicates wind directions with arrows.
